JDiveLog

...the open source logbook for scuba divers

Windows

This guide applies to the installation of the binary version (.jar) of jdivelog on Windows systems. The installation from the source code or from cvs is commited to well-disposed users only.

  1. Download and install the Java Runtime Environment 5.0 (JRE) from SUN for Windows.
  2. Download JDiveLog (the jdivelog-installer-X.X.jar!) from sourceforge.net and doubleclick on the downloaded file. If no installer appears try the command “java -jar jdivelog-installer-2.8.jar” on windows command line interface.
  3. On installation process you can install the RXTX-2.1 libs, which are required for downloading profiles from divecomputers. If you already have a working installation of RXTX, you should skip this package (this is also the reason why it is unselected as default). Attention: installing RXTX-Package requires administrator permissions
  4. Be Happy ;-)
